Madrid's Summer Art Scene: Exhibitions to See Beyond ARCO

Although the July edition of ARCO drew a smaller crowd, Madrid is vibrant with contemporary art exhibitions this summer. Michael Fliri's solo exhibition at the Italian Cultural Institute, which runs through September 30, showcases works from 2007 that delve into bodily transformation. 'Un Incontro Vegetale' at Casa Encendida, exploring the relationship between humans and plants, is available until September. At the Thyssen Museum, TBA21 features Claudia Comte's 'After Nature' until August 22, centered on coral ecosystems. The Palacio de Velázquez at the Reina Sofía Museum presents a retrospective of Vivian Suter, displaying approximately 500 pieces. Pep Agut's installation at the Palacio de Cristal reflects on its historical context, while CentroCentro's 'Panorama Madrid 01' celebrates Spanish female artists until late August, with Carlos Garaicoa facilitating a conversation among artists.
