Madrid Río: A Landmark Urban Park by Burgos & Garrido

Madrid Río, designed by Burgos & Garrido arquitectos, is a 1,289,000 m² park completed in 2015 along the Manzanares River in Madrid, Spain. It is considered the most significant public space project in the city in recent decades and one of the most ambitious in Europe. The project was led by Ginés Garrido, with a team including Rubio-Álvarez Sala Arquitectos, Porras LaCasta Arquitectos, and West8. Engineering was handled by FHECOR, general construction by ACCIONA, and landscape architecture by SC Paisajismo. Photographs were taken by Imagen Subliminal. The park transformed the riverfront, integrating green spaces, recreational areas, and cultural facilities, reconnecting the city with its river.
