The project includes a photoshoot, short movie, exhibition, and urban art piece. In the film, Madonna appears as a Virgin with a pierced heart, Christ in the Last Supper, an improbable Frida Kahlo, and references Velázquez. The video features her greatest hits and ends with a statement about being misunderstood. Vanity Fair European Editorial Director Simone Marchetti said Madonna accepted to be part of an artistic project representing her values. The initiative aims to celebrate an icon who shaped contemporary culture annually.
