MADE IN: Artissima and Turin Chamber Launch Artist-in-Residence at Local Factories

festival-fair · 2026-04-27

Artissima and the Turin Chamber of Commerce have launched MADE IN, a project that pairs young Italian artists with manufacturing companies in the Turin area. Artists aged 21–35 who are current or recent (within 24 months) students at Italian or foreign academies or universities can apply by January 26, 2023. A committee chaired by Artissima director Luigi Fassi, curator Sonia Belfiore, and four Turin-based galleries will select the participants. The partner companies are Carioca S.p.A. (color industry), Mattioli S.p.A. (high jewelry), Pattern Group S.p.A. (fashion luxury runway production), and Prima Industrie S.p.A. (sheet metal working machines). Residencies run from March to June 30, 2023, during which artists can use the companies' tools, materials, and labor. Each artist receives €3,000 for hospitality (in partnership with COMBO) and €2,500 for production. The finished artwork remains the artist's property.
