Maddalena Arcelloni's Lockdown Photography at Other Size Gallery

During the pandemic year, the fashion industry came to a halt, affecting collaborators and photographers including Milanese Maddalena Arcelloni. Unable to reach a work set, she turned her lens inward, focusing on the nude body of a stranger with whom she shared an apartment in Maine during lockdown. The resulting twelve photographs form the exhibition "Incredibly Close" at Other Size Gallery in Milan. The title plays on the paradox of isolation and social distancing, while the camera explores a frequently examined artistic theme. Arcelloni weaves new narratives, reinterpreting the material and offering fresh insights into a body that speaks of connections and pulsating humanity in times of exile.
