La mostra MAD 'Pathmakers' mette in luce i contributi trascurati delle donne al modernismo di metà secolo
Dal 28 aprile al 27 settembre 2015, il Museum of Arts and Design di New York ha ospitato 'Pathmakers: Women in Art, Craft and Design, Midcentury and Today', esponendo oltre 100 opere realizzate da 42 artiste. Questa mostra ha evidenziato la trascuratezza storica delle donne nel modernismo del dopoguerra, presentando figure di rilievo come Ruth Asawa e Lenore Tawney. Includeva anche opere delle designer scandinave Rut Bryk e Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe, nonché delle emigrate formate al Bauhaus Anni Albers e Maija Grotell. Dopo la tappa newyorkese, la mostra si è spostata al National Museum of Women in the Arts, dove è stata esposta dal 30 ottobre 2015 al 28 febbraio 2016, sottolineando i contributi e il ruolo di mentorship delle donne nel settore.
