MACTE Museum Launches Podcast Based on Calvino's Invisible Cities

The MACTE Museum in Termoli has launched a podcast series titled "Ersilia. La città emergente" on its digital platform MACTE Digital. Curated by Alice Labor and Ginevra Ludovici, the five-episode project draws inspiration from Italo Calvino's novel "Invisible Cities," specifically the city of Ersilia, where interpersonal relationships are symbolized by colored threads connecting houses. The podcast features voices of artists and writers including Pietro Ballero, Anouk Chambaz, Allison Grimaldi Donahue, Perla Sardella, and the duo VacuaMoenia, who engage in dialogue with the curators to explore the mythical city. Listeners are invited not as passive audience but as inhabitants of Ersilia, rethinking institutions, relationships, and shared spaces. The project aims to expand visual and emotional perception, leveraging the ability of artists, writers, and poets to imagine new hospitable geographies. The podcast is published on the MACTE Digital portal of the Museo MACTE di Termoli.
