MACRO's Post Scriptum Show Adds Fashion Editorials by Adidas and Armani

exhibition · 2026-04-26

The MACRO – Museo d’Arte Contemporanea di Roma has integrated fashion photography into its ongoing group exhibition 'Post Scriptum. Un museo dimenticato a memoria,' running until February 16, 2025. The project, curated by outgoing director Luca Lo Pinto, features art director and stylist Francesca Cefis, photographers Alassan Diawara and Lukas Wassmann, and collaborations with Adidas Originals and Emporio Armani. Life-size prints from two fashion shoots conducted inside the museum are displayed in the MACRO collection room, overlapping with Giovanna Silva’s storage images to create layered meanings. This intervention marks the culmination of Lo Pinto’s five-year tenure, during which he reimagined the museum as a three-dimensional magazine under the 'Immaginazione Preventiva' concept. Lo Pinto, co-founder of the magazine and publishing house NERO, structured over 60 exhibitions involving about 250 artists and authors, treating each gallery as a 'column' for diverse languages and subjects, including fashion editorials previously foreign to institutional museums. The exhibition path, featuring 37 artists, is deliberately disorienting, displacing works from their original locations to encourage deeper reflection. The accompanying catalog is transformed into a dual fashion editorial, with two catalogs by Diawara and Wassmann offering different visions of the show, shifting the discourse between exhibition and its image-making.
