MAC Welcomes 11 New Interns for TRANSVERSA 2026

institutional · 2026-04-30

On Thursday, April 30, MAC director Daniel Cruz welcomed 11 new interns to the Transversal Internship Program (TRANSVERSA) at the Guillermo Núñez Room of MAC Parque Forestal. Running from April to December, the interns will support areas including EducaMAC, Production, Anilla MAC, and Conservation and Documentation (UCD). This is the fifth consecutive year of the program. Most participants are from the University of Chile's Faculty of Arts, with additional students from Journalism, Architecture, and Chemistry and Pharmacy. Two trainees join from Sound Engineering and Bilingual Translation (English-Spanish) at UNIACC, the latter supporting general coordination. Cruz emphasized the program's goal of positioning the museum as a university device for mutual recognition and dialogue with emerging voices. Fernanda González, a second-year Art Theory and History student, cited her prior involvement in Estudios Libres as motivation for joining EducaMAC. TRANSVERSA aims to foster interdisciplinary learning across visual arts, philosophy, communications, humanities, architecture, design, physical sciences, mathematics, and law. This year, MAC will offer professionalization talks to help interns understand the museum as a workplace.
