M+ Pavilion in Hong Kong reveals inaugural exhibition lineup for 2016-2017
M+, the museum under construction in Hong Kong's West Kowloon Cultural District, has unveiled its first three exhibitions at the temporary M+ Pavilion, which will operate until the permanent building opens in 2019. From September 2016 to May 2017, the program includes a solo show by Tsang Kin-Wah titled Nothing, running from 9 September to 6 November 2016, following his representation of Hong Kong at the 2015 Venice Biennale. Another exhibition, Shifting Objectives: Design from the M+ Collection, will display over 100 objects examining 20th and 21st century design from diverse Asian perspectives, scheduled from 25 November 2016 to 5 February 2017. A third exhibition, exploring female identity and representation in Hong Kong popular culture since the 1980s, is set for 24 February to 7 May 2017. These exhibitions mark the initial programming for the institution ahead of its full launch.
