M HKA organizes Earth Day program with lecture, workshops on April 25

institutional · 2026-04-22

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, M HKA will host a program centered around content to celebrate Earth Day, which occurs on April 22. In collaboration with other members of L'Internationale, the museum openly supports the global climate movement. The event features a lecture titled "Canine Futures: Traces of Care, for Cities to Come," addressing how urban areas can better integrate with animals, especially stray dogs. Additionally, two workshops will be offered: a walk-in session with Volle Grond for creating seed bombs to enhance urban biodiversity, and a screen-printing activity inspired by Nicolás García Uriburu’s ecological practices, exploring the connections between geography, identity, and nature. This free program is designed for Saturday afternoons to encourage greater visitor participation. M HKA backs L'Internationale's climate action statement, countering the rising skepticism towards climate science and promoting a sustainable future. The climate crisis has been a focal point within the L'Internationale network, a European alliance of museums, universities, and arts organizations, influencing numerous exhibitions and collaborations with artists, scientists, and activists. The museum remains committed to sustainable practices and prioritizes the climate challenge in its initiatives.
