M’barek Bouhchichi’s Collaborative Exhibition at Foundation H in Antananarivo

Until 17 October 2026, Foundation H in Antananarivo, Madagascar, showcases 'Les mains des poètes,' a work by Moroccan artist M’barek Bouhchichi. This exhibition is the product of a residency in Madagascar, where Bouhchichi collaborated with local artisans, including blacksmiths, weavers, ceramists, and musicians, fostering dialogue. The artworks challenge the notion of singular authorship, reflecting intricate gestures and collective memories. A key theme of the exhibition is the revival of sorabe, the Arabico-Malagasy script, historically used for conveying spiritual, political, and scientific ideas. Bouhchichi envisions a broader language where creation is a form of thought, positioning the hand as both a creator and a repository of knowledge.
