Ongoing field trials with veterinarians in Massachusetts are supported by preorders that help cover manufacturing expenses. Experts warn that the test does not confirm Lyme disease in humans, as only 1-5% of tick bites result in infection. The launch aligns with an increase in tick-borne diseases, with the CDC estimating 476,000 Lyme cases each year in the U.S.
