Lyman Allyn Museum showcases McCalebb, Murphy & Johnson, and Fairey

The Lyman Allyn Art Museum, located in New London, Connecticut, is currently hosting three exhibitions. "The Golden Mean," by Howard McCalebb, showcases minimalist abstraction influenced by the Golden Ratio and will be on display until October 4, 2026. McCalebb, who previously managed Kunstraum Dada Post in Berlin, is now at the helm of Dada Post USA in Norwich. Another exhibition, "A Tin Can on a String: Conversations from the Collection," curated by Kat Murphy and Heidi Johnson, features 19th-century artworks and ancient artifacts, available until August 9, 2026. Murphy employs construction foam and gold paint in her pieces, while Johnson's landscapes are adorned with decorative elements. Additionally, Shepard Fairey’s politically charged prints in "Facing the Giant: Three Decades of Dissent" will be exhibited until September 6, 2026. All exhibitions are curated by Tanya Pohrt.
