Lyla Restaurant & Rooms: Edinburgh's Michelin-Starred Seafood Haven Expands with Four Bedrooms
Stuart Ralston, a chef-restaurateur hailing from Glenrothes, has enhanced his Michelin-starred establishment, Lyla, in Edinburgh by introducing four new bedrooms on the upper floor, named Aster, Linen, Samphire, and Purslane. The interiors, crafted by the Glasgow-based design firm Scarinish, showcase dark wooden finishes and textiles designed by Hilary Grant. Situated in a Georgian townhouse on Royal Terrace, Lyla presents a seafood-centric tasting menu featuring dishes such as squid-as-ramen and langoustine with burnt apple. Ralston, who launched Aizle in 2014, now manages four restaurants in Edinburgh: Noto, Tipo, Vinette, and Lyla. Room rates start at £345 per night or £715 for two, including dinner, which begins at £185 per person. An interview with Ralston explores Lyla's character and the evolution of dining in Edinburgh.
