Lydia Yee Named Chief Curator at Whitechapel Gallery, Joining from Barbican
Starting in February 2015, Lydia Yee will become the Chief Curator at Whitechapel Gallery, working alongside Director Iwona Blazwick to lead the exhibitions team. Since 2007, Yee has been a curator at the Barbican Art Gallery in London, where she recently contributed to significant exhibitions like Bauhaus: Art as Life in 2013 and the 2011 showcase featuring Laurie Anderson and others. She also curated notable works such as Ron Arad: Restless in 2010 and various projects in the Curve gallery with artists like Cory Arcangel. Before her tenure at Barbican, she served as the senior curator at the Bronx Museum of the Arts. Currently, she is co-curating the British Art Show 8 for 2015.
