LVMH reshuffles creative directors: Virgil Abloh to Louis Vuitton, Kris Van Assche to Berluti

other · 2026-05-04

In a rapid three-month reshuffle, LVMH has moved creative directors across its menswear brands. Kris Van Assche, after eleven years at Dior Homme, becomes artistic director of Berluti, replacing Haider Ackermann. Kim Jones moves from Louis Vuitton menswear to Dior Homme, while Virgil Abloh, founder of Off-White, takes over Louis Vuitton menswear. Hedi Slimane returned to LVMH in January to lead Céline, adding a menswear line. The changes reflect the corporatization of fashion and the rise of streetwear. Abloh's appointment is seen as the most significant, as Louis Vuitton is LVMH's most profitable brand, recently surpassed by Hermès in Brand Finance's ranking. Abloh previously collaborated with Nike on a special edition Air Force 1 sold exclusively at MoMA New York. The new collections debut from June 2018 to January 2019.
