Luxembourg Pavilion at 2019 Venice Biennale Moves to Arsenale
The Luxembourg Pavilion will relocate to the Arsenale for the 58th Venice Biennale, marking the first time the Grand Duchy exhibits in that venue. Artist Marco Godinho presents 'Written by Water,' an installation exploring humanity's relationship with the sea as both artistic inspiration and geopolitical territory, particularly regarding Mediterranean migration. The project is described as an 'odyssey in reverse of recent migrations, from North to South.' Luxembourg leaves Ca' del Duca, its private Venetian residence since 1999. The Biennale runs from May 11 to November 14, 2019. Other national participations include Italy curated by Milovan Farronato with artists Liliana Moro, Chiara Fumai, and Enrico David; Kazakhstan canceled due to budget cuts; and numerous other countries announced artists.
