Lupin III Returns to Cinema in 2025 with New 2D Animated Film

A new Lupin III animated film, the first in 2D in thirty years, is set for release in 2025. Titled 'Lupin the IIIrd. The Movie,' it is produced by Telecom Animation Film and distributed by TOHO. Directed by Takeshi Koike with a screenplay by Yuya Takahashi, the film will feature the classic characters: Lupin, Fujiko, Jigen, Goemon, and Inspector Zenigata. The last 2D Lupin film was 'Lupin: Trappola mortale' in 1996. The character, created by Monkey Punch in 1967, is loosely based on Arsène Lupin by Maurice Leblanc.
