Lunetta11: Street Art and Sculptures in Alta Langa's Mombarcaro
Lunetta11, a contemporary art venue in the ancient village of Lunetta in Mombarcaro, Alta Langa, inaugurated in 2019 on the initiative of Eva Menzio, Claudia Zunino, and Francesco Pistoi, presents its summer exhibition 'Abitiamo il mondo' (Let's Inhabit the World) starting September 2020 due to COVID-19 delays. The exhibition features five solo shows by emerging talents Andrea Barzaghi, BR1, Alessandro Gioiello, Shafei Xia, and Solomostry inside Lunetta11's spaces. Street artist Solomostry's flags and banners, produced during his residency with local seamstresses, are installed on Mombarcaro's streets and in the Lunetta11 woods, symbolizing a temporary occupation. Existing sculptures by Salvatore Astore, Roberto Barni, Luigi Mainolfi, Richard Nonas, and Paolo Grassino's 'Fiato' remain on view. Solomostry's pseudonym originated in early 2000s Milan techno nights. Mombarcaro, at 896 meters altitude, historically offered views of Ligurian Sea sailing vessels, reflected in its Latin etymology.
