LUMA Arles Hosts 'How Institutions Think' Symposium
From February 24 to 27, 2016, LUMA Arles in France will be the venue for an international symposium named 'How Institutions Think.' This event, inspired by Mary Douglas’s 1986 work, will delve into the opportunities and challenges faced by institutions, particularly in relation to knowledge and social constructs. Among the speakers are Charles Esche and Lucy Steeds from Afterall, along with authors like Pip Day, Clémentine Deliss, and Patrick Flores. The LUMA Foundation is collaborating with the Center for Curatorial Studies at CCS Bard and other organizations, such as Central Saint Martins and the V-A-C Foundation, to bring this event to life.
