Luigi Presicce animates Palazzo Pretorio with tableau vivant performance

On December 14, 2018, at 7 PM, Luigi Presicce (born 1976 in Porto Cesareo) will animate the paintings of Palazzo Pretorio in Prato through a unique performance, transforming them into tableau vivant as is customary in his practice. In collaboration with his Accademia dell'Immobilità, a traveling school founded in 2012 that has moved through Lecce, Bologna, Capri, and Florence, Presicce will present the result of a participatory process partially open to the public. The project is part of the Pretorio Studio format curated by Veronica Caciolli. Unlike previous editions, this time students selected works from the museum's collection to create a dialogue, rather than following dictated images. Costumes are being made on-site by Giovanni Donadini (aka Caned Icoda) in the museum's hall of large altarpieces. Multiple interventions will occur on different floors of the palace, forming an anti-narrative predella. Presicce emphasizes that the process is about guiding students to find their own solutions, fostering trust and harmony. He describes his practice as evolving, incorporating performance, painting, and sculpture.
