Luigi Ghirri's 'Pensiero Paesaggio' at Bergamo's Ex-Monastery

exhibition · 2026-05-05

For the first time, Bergamo hosts a dedicated exhibition of Luigi Ghirri (Scandiano, 1943 – Roncocesi, 1992) at the ex-Monastero di Astino. Titled 'Pensiero Paesaggio' and curated by Corrado Benigni and Mauro Zanchi, the show features forty small-format photographs in light wood frames that harmonize with the amber tones of the images. The works span still lifes, interiors, landscapes, and urban architecture—from the Po Valley plains to Venice, from domestic interiors to architect Aldo Rossi's studio and Ghirri's personal library. The exhibition runs until July 25, 2016, at the Monastero di Astino, Via Astino, Bergamo.
