Luigi Ghirri's Marazzi Ceramics Photos Debut in Paris

exhibition · 2026-04-27

An exhibition featuring a selection of previously unpublished photographs by Luigi Ghirri (1943–1992) for Marazzi is currently being held at the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Paris, running until December 21, 2021. Titled 'Luigi Ghirri. Les années Marazzi 1975–1985,' the showcase includes 24 images curated by Ilaria Campioli, which were preserved in Marazzi's archives and initially presented at Paris Photo 2021. Diego Marani, the director of the Istituto, expressed pride in presenting Ghirri's work. Located in the Hôtel de Gallifet, the exhibition features images characterized by terracotta hues and ceramics arranged in geometric patterns. Ghirri's decade-long collaboration with Marazzi reflects his exploration of ceramics as a medium for composition and light, following his 2019 retrospective at Jeu de Paume.
