Luigi Ghirri's Conceptual Photos Dialogue with Ceramics at Casa Mutina

Casa Mutina, the Milanese showroom of the Modena-based ceramics company, hosts the exhibition "Between the Lines" featuring works by Luigi Ghirri (1943-1992). Curated by Sarah Cosulich with pieces from CEO Massimo Orsini's collection, the show runs until September 23. It presents Ghirri's most conceptual photographs from the 1970s, including series such as Atlante and Still-Life, as well as images of roadside advertisements and everyday representations of natural versus built space. The exhibition is designed to interact with the showroom's architecture and its new ceramic display, DIN, designed by Konstantin Grcic. DIN's structure and chromatic palette create an unexpected backdrop that highlights Ghirri's obsession with framing, a tool to both enclose and reveal the unexpected. The display underscores Ghirri's keen observation of daily life and his deep knowledge of art history and pictorial tradition.
