Luigi Ghirri Prize 2023: Seven Under-35 Photographers Compete in Reggio Emilia

The tenth edition of the Luigi Ghirri Prize, dedicated to young Italian photography, has announced its seven finalists under 35. Selected from over 400 submissions by an international jury including Julia Bunneman (Photoworks Festival), Krzysztof Candrowicz (Fotofestiwal Lodz), and curators Ilaria Campioli and Daniele De Luigi, the artists will exhibit at Palazzo dei Musei in Reggio Emilia from April 28 to June 11, 2023, as part of the Festival della Fotografia Europea. The exhibition theme is 'Belonging' (Appartenenza). The winner receives €4,000 and a solo show at Triennale Milano in 2023-2024. A new special mention, 'Nuove traiettorie. GFI a Stoccolma', offers a residency in Stockholm and a show at the Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Stoccolma. Finalists: Eleonora Agostini (A Study on Waitressing), Andrea Camiolo (The Manhattan Project), Sofiya Chotyrbok (Home Before Dark), Davide Degano (Romanzo meticcio), Carlo Lombardi (La carne dell'orso), Giulia Mangione (The Fall), Eleonora Paciullo (Teofanie). The prize is promoted by the Comune di Reggio Emilia in partnership with Triennale Milano and Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Stoccolma.
