Luigi Ghirri and Paolo Icaro in Dialogue at Querini Stampalia

exhibition · 2026-05-05

"Le Pietre del Cielo. Luigi Ghirri e Paolo Icaro," an exhibition curated by Chiara Bertola and Giuliano Sergio, is set to launch on November 11, 2017, at the Fondazione Querini Stampalia in Venice. This showcase features the photographs of Ghirri alongside the sculptures of Paolo Icaro. It follows the 2015 exhibition "Paesaggi d'aria. Luigi Ghirri e Yona Friedman." The Ghirri Archive, founded by collector Roberto Lombardi, contains thirty-one images from Ghirri's "Il profilo delle nuvole" series (1985–1990). Bertola's goal is to leverage historical insights for future exploration. A new piece by Icaro has been created in the Carlo Scarpa area. The exhibition will be open until January 28, 2018.
