Luigi Christopher Veggetti Kanku's paintings interrogate regeneration after Seveso disaster

Luigi Christopher Veggetti Kanku's solo exhibition, 'La poetica del verde. Boschi e parchi della Brianza,' has launched at Palazzo Arese Borromeo in Cesano Maderno, Italy, as part of the Seveso50 initiative, which will be on display until July 12, 2026. This exhibition marks the 50th anniversary of the Icmesa disaster in 1976, which resulted in dioxin contamination in Seveso, Meda, Desio, and Cesano Maderno. Kanku's expansive paintings capture emotional connections to the landscape through techniques that showcase layered hues, with references to Bosco delle Querce, representing environmental renewal. Additionally, a multidisciplinary program by the Lombardy Green Chemistry Association includes workshops, educational activities, and biodiversity walks. The 17th-century villa venue emphasizes collective restitution, as Kanku seeks to raise awareness through his artistic expression.
