Ludmilla Radchenko: From Siberia to Pop at Ars Antiqua Milan
Milan's Ars Antiqua gallery, active since 2000 but previously focused on antiquities, has opened new contemporary art spaces in Via Pisacane with a dual exhibition titled #untitled. The show pairs the anonymous sculptor M'horó, praised by Vittorio Sgarbi, with Ludmilla Radchenko (born 1979 in Omsk, Siberia), a former TV personality and model turned pop artist. Radchenko's works on display include a mix of series from 2014 to the present, using collage on canvas, acrylic, and resin. She describes her style as narrative pop, distinct from Warholian pop, and her fashion brand Siberian Soup FullArt produces wearable art scarves. The exhibition also features M'horó's Red light series of metal sculptures with LED lights. Radchenko discusses her Siberian roots, her Italian home, and the American Dream as recurring themes. She addresses prejudices against her as a former TV star and mother, asserting her serious artistic practice. The interview was conducted by Margherita Zanoletti for Artribune.
