Lucy Lippard to Sign Book at New York Art Book Fair

Lucy Lippard will sign copies of 'From Conceptualism to Feminism: Lucy Lippard’s Numbers Shows 1969–74' at the Contemporary Artists’ Books Conference during the New York Art Book Fair. The signing takes place on Saturday, 29 September, from 19.30 to 20.30 at MoMA PS1's Performance Dome in Long Island City. The conference, a two-day event, features keynotes by Lippard and Paul Chan, covering topics such as appropriation, intellectual property, and arts-publishing in Tokyo, Taipei, and Seoul. The book, part of Afterall's Exhibition Histories series, includes archival material, over 130 images, an essay by Cornelia Butler, interviews with Lippard, Seth Siegelaub, and exhibiting artists, plus critical responses by Peter Plagens and Griselda Pollock. It traces Lippard's shift from critic to curator and her growing feminist engagement, with an essay by Pip Day on Argentine artists' initiatives.
