Lucia Pietroiusti and Filipa Ramos to Curate Bergen Assembly 2028

festival-fair · 2026-05-26

Bergen Assembly has appointed Lucia Pietroiusti and Filipa Ramos as convenors for its sixth edition in 2028. The duo, known for their collaborative work on art and ecology, will shape the triennial's form around the relationship between narrative and presentation. Their long-term project 'The Shape of a Circle in the Mind of a Fish' (since 2018) exemplifies their inquiry into consciousness and more-than-human intelligence. Previous collaborations include 'Persones Persons' (8th Biennale Gherdëina, 2022), 'Songs for the Changing Seasons' (1st Klima Biennale Wien, 2025), and 'Bodies of Water' (13th Shanghai Biennale, 2020-21). For 2028, they will work closely with Bergen, conducting public research and hosting a Prelude on technology and ecstasy on September 12, 2026. Pietroiusti is Head of Research & Emergence at Hartwig Museum, Amsterdam (opening 2028), curator of the 6th Autostrada Biennale (Prizren, 2027), and founded Serpentine's General Ecology project. Ramos teaches at FHNW Academy of Art and Design, Basel, and is curator of LIAF 2027; her book 'The Artist as Ecologist' was published in 2025.
