Lucia Koch's São Paulo Solo Show Features Two Major Installations

Lucia Koch presents a new solo exhibition at Galeria Nara Roesler in São Paulo, featuring two major installations that give the show its title: 'Tumulto' and 'Turbilhão'. 'Tumulto' consists of diagonal curtains that slice through the gallery's main hall, creating layers of semi-transparent fabric that appear to extend beyond the walls. In contrast, 'Turbilhão' acts as an anti-vitrine, filling a large gallery window with a red trellis. A motorized circle cut from the same trellis rotates slowly, producing a moiré effect visible from inside and outside the space. The exhibition also includes collaborative works, such as 'Trabalho Noturno', which echoes Koch's 2018 installation 'A Longa Noite' at Sesc Pompeia. The opening featured the performance 'Tramatura' by Coletiva Balaiada Qualira, a group including artists Eliara Lua, Flora Maria, Ana Musidora, and Jo dos Santos. The collective also presents the video performance 'Eclipse', created with Aline Belfort. The exhibition runs until October 19 at Galeria Nara Roesler on Avenida Europa, 655, in São Paulo's Jardim Europa neighborhood.
