Luci d’Artista 2020-2021 turns Turin into open-air museum
The 23rd edition of Luci d’Artista, which turns Turin into a vibrant open-air display of light art, is set to continue until January 10, 2021. This year, the exhibition showcases 26 installations: 14 located in the city center and 12 spread across other neighborhoods. Notable returning artists include Mario Airò, Daniel Buren, Marco Gastini, Piero Gilardi, Alfredo Jaar, Mario Merz, Joseph Kosuth, and Giulio Paolini. New additions feature Mario Molinari's Concerto di parole, Jeppe Hein's Illuminated Benches, Nicola De Maria's Il Regno dei fiori, Tobias Rehberger's My Noon, and Valerio Berruti's Ancora una volta, alongside enhanced lighting for Luigi Nervo's Monumento 1706. The festival also offers a Public Program titled Nuovi Equilibri, with many events taking place online due to COVID-19. Guided tours are available until January 3, and Mayor Chiara Appendino along with Culture Councillor Francesca Leon highlighted the initiative's importance for enhancing visibility in various city areas.
