Luca Vitone's Cadastral Maps on Display at Bologna's LabOratorio degli Angeli

Luca Vitone's exhibition 'Identificazione del luogo' at LabOratorio degli Angeli in Bologna, curated by Leonardo Regano, runs until February 15, 2025, as part of ArtCity. The show features large xerographic maps from 1989 that reproduce cartographies of their original venues, now reactivated in a new context. The installation is performative: the maps are displayed on worktables where restorers actively treat them, intertwining Vitone's creative process with the lab's daily restoration activities. The exhibition also includes photographic works documenting previous installations. Regano's collaboration with the lab began in 2014, developing a unique format combining site-specific art with conservation. This is the first time restorers work publicly during the show, engaging directly with the artworks.
