Luca Vitone curates 'Esercizi quotidiani' at MoRE, museum of unrealised projects

exhibition · 2026-05-04

MoRE, a digital museum dedicated to refused and unrealised art projects, has for the first time entrusted an artist with curating a show. Luca Vitone (Genoa, 1964) selected six artists for the group exhibition 'Esercizi quotidiani': Mark Dion (USA, 1961), Maria Eichhorn (Germany, 1962), Till Krause (Germany, 1965), Daniel Maier-Reimer (Germany, 1968), Veit Stratmann (Germany, 1960), and Cesare Viel (Turin, 1964). The exhibition features projects that were never realised due to lack of funds, rejection by juries, or ethical concerns. Highlights include Dion's information centre for Balboa Park in San Diego, Eichhorn's 33-metre observation tower, Krause's memorial on WWII traces in Hamburg, Viel's banners with phrases 'Tutto ciò che accade' and 'Sempre tutto intorno' grounded for lack of funds, and Stratmann's urban lighting system based on human behaviour, deemed unrealisable. The event takes place on Sunday, 19 May at the MACRO Auditorium in Rome. MoRE was founded by Elisabetta Modena and Marco Scotti, and now holds over 130 projects by 80 artists, collaborating with institutions such as Museo del Novecento di Milano, MSU Zagreb, CSAC Parma, and MAXXI Rome. Vitone had previously presented his unrealised projects on the platform in the solo show 'When public remains private. Unrealised projects by Luca Vitone', curated by Modena.
