Luca Vecchi's Warrior Mothers: Okaa-Sama Photo Exhibition in Milan
Luca Vecchi, known for his comedic work with The Pills, presents his first solo photography exhibition 'Okaa-Sama | Onorevole Madre' at Ad Gallery in Milan from May 10 to 12, 2019. The show, supported by the association Giappone in Italia, features limited-edition photographic compositions—triptychs, diptychs, and single shots—depicting mothers in traditional Japanese Yoroi armor, celebrating female strength and motherhood. One image received an Honourable Mention at the Monochrome Photography Awards 2018. Vecchi, born in Rome in 1985, studied film direction at the Nuova Università del Cinema di Roma and holds a degree in Performing Arts. His photographic style draws from Nadar, Robert Mapplethorpe, Richard Avedon, and Japanese manga aesthetics. The opening includes takoyaki by Takochu's Lorenzo Ferraboschi and sake from Saké Company.
