Luca Trevisani's 'In bocca' at Pinksummer Genoa

exhibition · 2026-04-27

At Pinksummer gallery in Genoa, Luca Trevisani (Verona, 1979) presents 'In bocca', an exhibition featuring two series of works that transform food into sculpture. The installation evokes historical collections and natural science museums, recalling the ephemeral research of Paul Thek. Seasonal fruits and vegetables, hollowed and dried, are displayed in vitrines on small gold supports, forming shapes and rhythms. These objects appear as defunctionalized bowls, referencing Charles and Ray Eames's collections and Zoe Leonard's installations. On the walls, leftovers from meals become paper supports where lemons have left acid-etched traces, creating automatic writings that retain daily memory. Trevisani describes his method as 'not metaphors, but examples', emphasizing processuality and a ludic attitude akin to a recipe. The dried vegetables first appeared in 2010 as a homage to Bruno Munari on a postcard/multiple for REPLICA project by Lisa Andreani and Simona Squadrito. The exhibition runs at Pinksummer in Genoa.
