Luca Pozzi and auroraMeccanica at FMAV Modena
The Fondazione Modena Arti Visive (FMAV) presents 'Hyperinascimento', a cross-media Zen garden by visual artist Luca Pozzi (Milan, 1983), and 'Figura', a multimedia installation by the collective auroraMeccanica, at Palazzo Santa Margherita in Modena. Pozzi's exhibition explores a new humanism where art, quantum physics, and cosmology converge, centering on information and its flow. Visitors cross a black curtain into a dark, floating space with a serigraphed carpet titled 'The Grandmother Platform', featuring iconography from Renaissance art, physics, and space missions, linked to seven black holes with levitating neodymium spheres. The virtual reality project 'Rosetta Mission 2020', inspired by the ESA mission, allows exploration of an astral geography with contributions from scientists and artists, including Michelangelo Pistoletto's 'Terzo Paradiso'. The animist sculpture 'Arkanian Shenron' tweets Haiku composed of 16 words from specific semantic fields. Upstairs, 'Third Eye Prophecy Markers' use augmented reality: smartphone scanning of analog markers reveals digital sculptures geolocated in the Sistine Chapel during Easter 2020 lockdown. auroraMeccanica's 'Figura' analyzes the link between the museum's figurine collection and Instagram. An algorithm regenerates the installation daily by collecting new images based on selected hashtags. Two galaxies of thousands of miniature images interact with viewers, who can enlarge or shrink images through movement.
