Luca Petti's 'Nature is our gardener' at Galleria Marrocco, Naples

Luca Petti's solo exhibition 'Nature is our gardener/Relazioni simbiotiche' opened at Galleria Marrocco in Naples, hosted at the multifunctional space A'Mbasciata in historic Palazzo Venezia. Curated by Letizia Mari, the site-specific show presents mostly new sculptures, such as 'Symbiotic relationships,' that explore parallel worlds merging into coexistence for survival. The stylized, seemingly aggressive figures emerge from the room's historic maiolica tiles, highlighting fragility and the search for connections amid environmental pollution and climate change. Colors—red, yellow, black—reference biological pigments, and a soft flocking process coats each iron and steel exstramirror sculpture, contradicting their austere appearance. Petti, born in Benevento in 1990, continues an artistic discourse begun in 2013 on coexistence dynamics, urging reflection on human impact on nature and sustainability. Galleria Marrocco, founded in 2014 in Cassino by Giorgio Marrocco, became part of A'Mbasciata in 2019. The association, named after the Neapolitan phrase for 'bringing news,' restored the 500-square-meter space after sixty years of abandonment, now a vibrant cultural hub for music, fashion, theater, and art.
