Luca Negri's Debut Graphic Novel Storie di uomini intraprendenti e di situazioni critiche

Luca Negri (Novara, 1993) makes his official graphic novel debut with Storie di uomini intraprendenti e di situazioni critiche, published by Stigma and Eris Edizioni. The book is a hybrid collection of eight stories, each named after a film genre: gangster movie, spy story, teen drama, superhero, horror, western, science fiction, and war. The narratives include a gang of outlaw cats planning a heist, a detective investigating a strange presence in a condominium, and government agents communicating with alien creatures. Negri describes the work as stories where structure overtakes narrative, with clichés piling up until they crowd out the main characters, creating a sense of the story escaping its confines. The volume is part of Progetto Stigma, an editorial project led by AkaB that gives authors full control over their work, following the debut of Epos by Marco Galli. Negri was previously nominated for the Premio Carlo Boscarato at the Treviso Comic Book Festival 2017 for his webcomic. The book is 128 pages, priced at €15, ISBN 9788898644513.
