Luca Guadagnino curates Homo Faber 2024 in Venice
Homo Faber 2024, the third edition of the biennial showcase of global craftsmanship, will be held at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice from September 1 to 30. The event is co-directed by film director Luca Guadagnino and architect Nicolò Rosmarini, who have conceived the theme "The Journey of Life." The exhibition features over 800 objects created by more than 400 artisans and designers from around the world, spanning ceramics, sculpture, embroidery, illustration, furniture, masks, fashion, and jewelry. In parallel, Japanese car manufacturer Mazda is organizing two papercraft workshops where visitors can create pocket globes and bind books under the guidance of Italian artisans. The Homo Faber in Città program, developed with Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte, offers guided itineraries to artisan workshops in Murano, Burano, Cannaregio, and central Venice. Additionally, the event includes gourmet experiences at selected bistros, restaurants, and tea rooms in Venice.
