Luca Di Gregorio: Gen Z Artist Interview
Luca Di Gregorio (born 2000, Rome) is an emerging Italian artist who recently graduated from Rome University of Fine Arts. Despite his youth, he has participated in group shows including Multipli at Rufa Space in Rome (2020) and L'Incontro at Palazzo Ducale in Genoa (2021). Di Gregorio's practice focuses on decontextualizing everyday scenes from his personal experience, reflecting on how images can be translated into other contexts. He works in a studio in Torre Maura, a suburb of Rome, which he shares with other artists since 2021. His first solo show was COSTRUZIONI PER at Rufa Space – Pastificio Cerere in Rome in 2022. He does not currently collaborate with a gallery, preferring to concentrate on his research and studio work. His recent focus has been on the world of work and construction sites, as well as more anonymous and detached subjects. He plans to travel across Europe to expand his network, starting with Barcelona. Di Gregorio expresses fear of the art market due to his limited experience.
