Luca De Angelis: first solo show in Rome at Auditorium Parco della Musica
Luca De Angelis (born 1980 in San Benedetto del Tronto) presents his first solo exhibition in Rome, curated by Claudio Libero Pisano, at the Auditorium Parco della Musica. The show features a selection of recent and older works, all focused on painting as a medium. De Angelis draws inspiration from Eastern and Northern European artistic trends. His large and small canvases depict mysterious, unsettling figures performing incomprehensible or symbolic gestures against exuberant, wild natural backdrops. The painterly grammar is dense with overlays, signs, material contortions, and layered meanings, especially in the larger works. Smaller pieces are dense and magmatic, developing enigmatic natural scenes with ineffable actions and silences. A future exhibition at the Pero gallery in Milan is announced.
