Luca Bertolo's Dance and Faces at Pistoia Solo Show
Luca Bertolo (Milan, 1968) presents his seventh solo exhibition in Pistoia, featuring the new Facce series and the single painting Dance. The Facce series depicts faces far from realism, hovering between comic and naive, as masks or caricatures that serve as metaphors for self-knowledge. The painting Dance, created between November and December 2021, was kept unpublished until now to avoid temporal misinterpretation, as it predates the war in Ukraine and conveys a civil message comparable to Picasso's Guernica. Bertolo's practice embraces eternal repetition through dance as an imperative to action, with the large canvas recalling action painting and Mirò in chromatic choice. The exhibition runs until March 21, 2026.
