Loving Vincent: Hand-Painted Van Gogh Film Premieres October
125 artists worked four years to create Loving Vincent, an animated film that brings Vincent van Gogh's most famous paintings to life. Each frame is hand-painted, with every second containing at least twelve canvases. The film is accompanied by the exhibition Loving Vincent: de tentoonstelling at Het Noordbrabants Museum in Den Bosch from October 14, 2017 to January 28, 2018, showcasing 70 copies of original paintings used in the film, along with videos and presentations on the production method. On October 19, 2017, the film's premiere in Gelderland will feature another selection of 1,400 total copies at Cinemec in Ede. Lies Boelrijk of the Kröller-Müller Museum, located near Cinemec, noted that the works are too beautiful not to show to the film's audience. The Kröller-Müller Museum holds the second largest collection of Van Gogh's works after Amsterdam, and will host a red-carpet premiere event.
