Louvre Abu Dhabi to Showcase Early 20th Century Parisian Art Scene
From September 18 to December 7, 2019, the Louvre Abu Dhabi, alongside Agence France-Muséums and the Centre Pompidou, will present an exhibition titled 'Rendezvous in Paris: Picasso, Chagall, Modigliani & Co. (1900-1939)'. This display explores the vibrant art landscape of early 20th-century Paris and includes works by around 50 notable artists, including Pablo Picasso, Amedeo Modigliani, and Marc Chagall. The exhibition highlights how, following World War I, Paris transformed into a lively cultural hub for European artists, who gathered in cafes, studios, and galleries, ultimately positioning the City of Light as a key player in modern artistic development.
