Louisa Babari's 'AFRICA' Explores North African Mythology at [mac] Marseille

The [mac] Museum of Contemporary Art of Marseille is hosting a solo exhibition by French artist Louisa Babari, titled 'AFRICA.' The immersive project delves into the ancient and mythological layers of North Africa through photographic, visual, and sound works that intertwine history, fiction, and memory. The exhibition is organized in partnership with the Passages Contemporary Art Center and supported by the Pierre Barbizet Conservatory. It is part of the Rencontres d’Arles program Grand Arles Express and has received the Saison Méditerranée label. Accompanying the exhibition is the sound project 'Public Voices,' produced with support from Rhizome Art Center. In 2024, the [mac] museum acquired Babari's work 'Journal of an Algerian Student in Moscow.'
