Louis Vuitton Unveils Redesigned Tambour Watch with Integrated Bracelet
Louis Vuitton has launched a redesigned version of its iconic Tambour watch, first introduced in 2002. The new timepiece, two years in development, retains the signature drum-shaped case but is slimmer (reduced from 13mm to 8.3mm depth) and features an integrated bracelet—a first for the Maison. Available in two steel versions with silver-grey (W1ST10) or deep blue (W1ST20) dials, the watch houses the new cal. LFT023 automatic movement, the first proprietary three-hand caliber designed by Louis Vuitton in collaboration with movement specialists Le Cercle des Horlogers. The movement features a Monogram Flower-inspired openworked barrel cover and a micro-rotor with a stylized LV motif. The watch includes a sandblasted bezel engraved with the Maison's name, gold diamond-polished indexes, and a split-level chapter ring for enhanced legibility. The bracelet's 'inflection point' allows the watch to sit two to three millimeters lower on the wrist. Jean Arnault, Watch Director, stated the watch embodies "an unprecedented level of sophistication" and aims to "open a new chapter in the history of the Maison's watchmaking." The movement was designed at La Fabrique du Temps, Louis Vuitton's watchmaking atelier in Geneva.
