Louis Vuitton Reimagines 1988 Monterey Watch with Limited Edition
Louis Vuitton has unveiled a collection of 188 limited edition Monterey watches, drawing inspiration from its 1988 model. The 39mm case, made of yellow gold, maintains the original pebble silhouette, with the crown positioned at 12 o'clock and a leather strap. Produced by La Fabrique du Temps, the watch boasts a Grand Feu enamel dial, which takes 20 hours to craft through a delicate firing technique. It is powered by the in-house automatic movement, LFTMA01.02, featuring an 18K rose gold rotor that operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 45-hour power reserve. The original LV I and LV II, designed by Gae Aulenti in 1988, showcased pioneering shapes and functionalities. Each new case is meticulously handcrafted, with the caseback marked "1 of 188," reflecting Louis Vuitton's commitment to merging innovation with timeless design.
