Lost Arturo Martini Textiles Discovered, Exhibition Opens in Savona
An exhibition at the Museo della Ceramica di Savona and Pinacoteca Civica showcases what are believed to be the earliest textile creations of Arturo Martini. These carpets, originally intended as doormats, were linked to sketches found at the Fondazione Wolfsoniana di Nervi. Titled "Arturo Martini. La trama dei sogni. Tessuti, ceramiche, dipinti," the display includes fifty pieces that explore themes of circus, childhood, and theater, featuring bronzes and paintings. Curated by Carla Bracco, Magda Tassinari, and Donatella Ventura, the museum, led by Luca Bochicchio, also presents "ESSERE UNO," the inaugural exhibition of artist Alessandro Teoldi. Mayor Marco Russo noted that this discovery bolsters Savona's candidacy for Italian Capital of Culture 2027.
